There are a few ways to move your diagram:

Insert a Diagram

1. In your new page, click Add, Gliffy Diagram
2. Click "Search" on the left side of the Create Diagram screen or "Insert Diagram" in the upper right corner
3. Navigate to the space and search for the diagram name you wish to move/copy
4. Click on the diagram and click "Insert"
5. Save the page in Confluence

Note: Using this method will maintain the diagram on both pages as two individual documents. To completely remove the diagram from the initial page, delete the diagram attachment and the Gliffy Macro from the page.

Export the Existing Diagram

1. Go to the page in Confluence and Edit the page
2. Click Edit on the diagram you wish to move
3. Click File, Export as Gliffy XML
3. Save the GXML file to your Computer
4. At the page in Confluence you want the diagram moved to: Click Add, Gliffy Diagram
5. Click "Import" on the left side of the Create Diagram screen then click "Choose File" to browse to the Gliffy file you just exported
6. Select the file then Click "Create"
7. Save the page in Confluence

Note: To completely remove the diagram from the initial page, delete the diagram attachment and the Gliffy Macro from the page.

Use the Attachments Page (For Confluence versions before 4.x)
1. At the Confluence page of the existing diagram
2. Click Tools, Attachments
3. Next to the non-png diagram name, click the link "Properties"
4. Search for the page you wish to move the diagram to in the "Page" box,  Click Save.
5. In the new page, click edit. Add the Gliffy macro to the page {gliffy:name=NAME_OF_DIAGRAM}

Happy Moving!

I inserted my relocated diagram in the new page in Confluence 4.2 by inserting Wiki markup.  Is there a more user-friendly way of doing it in Confluence 4+?

Hi David,

If you go to the page that you wish to insert the existing diagram:

  1. Select Insert -> Gliffy Diagram
  2. Click "Insert Diagram" in the upper right of the Create Diagram popover
  3. Enter the name of the diagram in the search and click search, or find the diagram in the Most Recent list, click the name of the diagram in the results.
  4. The diagram should now be inserted in your page.
  5. Click save to save the changes to the page.
This way of doing it is specifically for the Confluence 4.x environment.

Thank you,

I've used the first method Debi described after another one failed. I wanted to import a gxml file to a new confluence page but the spinners kept turning and turning. No upload. The diagrams were quite small so it couldn't be my connection.

Is this issue known?
